How do I get started?
Click the link below to start taking the Texas Online LTC Class. The class can be taken from any device, including your Smart Phone for just $59! You can complete the class at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home. The class length is 4 hours, as required by the state, and you can start and stop the class as you need to. Your progress is saved each time you stop, and you can pick back up where you left off at your convenience.
Why do I need and LTC?
Texas is a “Castle Doctrine” as well as a “Stand Your Ground” state. This means you have the right to defend yourself, either in your home or if you feel your life is being threatened. One of the best reasons to have your Texas LTC is Reciprocity. Currently, there are 37 states ( see map below ) will honor your valid Texas LTC, and allow you to carry in their state. This gives you the freedom to carry throughout the United States with confidence knowing you have the legal protections a valid LTC provides. Campus carry, trespass protection, school zone carry are a few more reasons to get your LTC!
What happens next?
Once you complete the ONLINE class, you can immediately download and print the LTC 101 certificate. Take that certificate to your local gun range, and sign up for the “shooting portion”. The shooting proficiency consist of one hour of range time. Students will be shooting from distances of 3, 7, and 15 yards on a silhouette target. Of 250 possible points, 175 are required to pass. It’s that easy!! After you complete the ONLINE class and shooting portion, you will complete a background check and submit your fingerprints. That’s it.
